Grumman F4F "Wildcat" - the first US deck fighter - monoplane. Work on this plane began in 1936 and it was originally planned as a biplane. The prototype took to the air for the first time in September 1937, the first serial “Wildcats” were delivered to units only in 1940. From 1941 to 1943 it was the main deck fighter of the US Navy. It was later used extensively on US Marine Corps escort aircraft carriers. Part of the aircraft produced, was used by the British Royal Air Force. About 8 thousand were produced in 1940-1945 all versions of “Wildcat” fighters. The F4F was the axis of US aircraft carrier defense in almost all battles of the first half of World War II (Battle of the Coral Sea, Battle of Midway, Battle of Guadalcanal,...) However, the Japanese main deck fighter A6M "Zero" could stay in the air longer, was more maneuverable, had a vertical speed advantage, but the “Wildcat” was stronger and more resistant to damage.

The chassis of the released model makes this model one of the most complex - it consists of a large number of intricately connected rods and joints. However, if You make the chassis retracted, do not make the cockpit equipment, additional fuel tanks and make an opaque cockpit canopy, then this model will be perfect even for a novice modeler working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. The model recreates the F4F-3A "Wildcat" fighter, flown and fought by one of the US Navy aces, O'Hara, in February 1942. The plane belonged to the aircraft carrier USS "Lexington's' air group and was part of the famous "Cat Felix " division VF-3. There are no color reserves, the textual instructions are large, detailed, graphic - also excellent and well-readable, but some of the drawings could be larger. Antiquarian publication.
