Westland "Lysander" – the British military high-wing scheme, metal construction Second World War era multi-role and communications aircraft with a classic tail. Design work, led by William Peter, began in 1934, two years later the first prototype took off, in 1937 serial production began. The “Lysander” was produced from 1937 to 1942 in five main versions: Mk. I, Mk. II, Mk. III, Mk. IIIA and TT Mk. IIIA. All versions were powered by Bristol “Mercury” or Bristol “Perseus” engines of varying versions and power. A total of 1,425 aircraft of all versions were produced. During the French campaign in 1940, they served on the front lines, but suffered significant losses, so they were transferred to other tasks: rescuing downed bomber crews, maintaining contact with the underground in occupied Europe and reconnaissance. This type of aircraft was also used by the Polish 309th Support and Communications Division of the “Ziemi Czerwenskiej”, whose aircraft this model recreates.
A small and well-designed, richly detailed model of a small aircraft, very complex. The model is suitable only for medium experience and experienced modelers. The model has perfectly reproduced all visible exterior details, chassis, cockpit equipment, control surfaces only separate from the main surfaces, perfectly reproduced engine, stationary and suspended armament (small bombs). There is a considerable supply of colors, the textual instruction in Polish is extensive, detailed and perfectly describes the entire process of assembling the model, the graphical instruction is also extensive, consistently arranged, informative and easy to read.
