"SAAB A-26" - Swedish SS type ("Ship Submersible") submarine, built at the "SAAB Kockums" shipyard. Its building began after the failure of the "Viking" program. The goal of this program was to create a common type of ship for Sweden, Denmark and Norway. This ship makes maximum use of technologies, that reduce the detection of the ship, and in addition, it is also very resistant to various impacts. The A-26 is equipped with an engine, that does not depend on external air, its basis is a "Stirling" engine, that can operate without atmospheric air. In addition, it can operate in shallow waters without serious problems and is designed to operate covertly in enemy waters: to lay minefields, fight enemy submarines, as well as to detect and stop illegal actions. This type of ship is built in three versions: "Pelagic", "Oceanic" and "Oceanic-extended range". Ships of different types differ in length, displacement, hull cross-section area and capabilities. The ship was first officially presented on November 21, 2014 in Warsaw. Then it was offered to the Polish Navy and it was planned to purchase 3 new ships under the "Orka" program.
The model is simple and easy to assemble, so it will be perfect for less experienced modelers, but they should work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and take their time, using all due care, diligence and patience. The textual instructions are in Polish and only complement the fairly good graphic instructions. The color reserve (black) includes. The most difficult part will be gluing the very narrow outer skin parts and the upper part of the control cabin.
