“Vittorio Veneto” - one of three planned (only two were built - the other was the “Littorio”) Italian “Littorio”-class line-ship, used during World War II. Named in honor of Italy's victory over the Austrians during World War I, the keel of the ship was laid down at the “Cantieri Riuniti dell'Adriatica” shipyard in Trieste in 1934. on 28 October, to commemorate the eleventh anniversary of the march on Rome by the Italian fascists, led by Mussolini. It was launched on 25 July 1937 and completed on 28 April 1940. It entered service on 1 May 1940 and underwent combat training until 2 August. During sea trials, operating at full power, it demonstrated the world's highest speed of a line-ship (at that time, in May 1940): 32.5 knots. This ship of the Italian Navy was the most active during the Second World War: during that war it carried out 56 combat missions, covered 17,970 nautical miles in 1,056 sailing hours and consumed 20,288 tons of fuel. "Vittorio Veneto" was considered a successful ship, because, despite the fact, that it was damaged more or less in almost every battle, it reached the end of the war as perfectly fit for service. The ship was repaired and stood in the docks for a total of 199 days. From 1953 to 1955 the ship was cut into scrap metal.
A medium-size (like "Maly Modelarz" - large) model of a large ship - perfectly designed, also perfectly detailed, intended only for medium-experience and experienced modelers. There are a lot of color reserves, but only the colors of the sides and superstructures. Where necessary (almost all detail sheets), double-sided printing was used. Excellent textual instructions in Polish, graphical - also excellent, detailed, informative, large-scale, perfectly readable. And, although the publication was published not so long ago, it has already become an Antiquarian publication.
