Sikorsky S-51/ HO3S-1 - The US light helicopter

H-5 - American four-seat multi-purpose helicopter, modernization of the R-4, with increased carrying capacity, increased reliability, speed and take-off height. S-51 - civil modification of the helicopter. Manufactured by "Sikorsky Aero Engineering Corporation". The H-5/S-51 first flew on February 16, 1946. This helicopter was the first to be equipped with an autopilot, which greatly facilitated piloting. A total of 379 H-5/S-51 helicopters were produced. The machine was widely used in the armed forces of the United States and many other countries.

Two complete models - military and civilian versions - can be made from this publication, the textual instructions are small, but quite detailed in Russian, the graphic instructions are larger and informative and perfectly readable. For a complex-shaped cabin canopy there are parts for making a mold from thin transparent plastic.
