"Petrojarl Cidade de Rio Das Ostras" – the Canadian-Norwegian floating oil refinery

"Petrojarl Cidade de Rio das Ostras" - a modern oil refinery ship, built in Germany. The keel was laid in 1980, launched in 1981. The ship entered service in the same year. The length of the ship is 183 meters, width - 32.2 meters. Displacement is about 45,500 DTW. “Petroarl Cidade de Rio das Ostras” (the original name, under which was built – “St. Michael”) was built at the “AG Wesser” shipyard in Bremen as a classic crude oil tanker. However, in 2006, the ship underwent a very unusual conversion, during which it was transformed from a tanker into a crude oil transport and rafinering vessel, most suitable for refining heavy oil. The feasibility study for this very unusual conversion was carried out by the Norwegian company “Brevik Engineering”, and almost all the equipment was manufactured or designed by the Finnish company “Wärtsilä”. On the other hand, the actual conversion and reconstruction of the ship took place at the Gdańsk shipyard “Remontowa” in 2006-2007.

There is a small supply of colors, the sides have a reserve length in the middle, which is very good, when something does not fit - it is always easier to cut, than to "add".
